2008...The Year of "NEW"

2008 was a year of so much change, it is crazy! Here are a few different things that have turned my life upside down so quickly....

~NEW Baby....
Tucker joined our family in April and has forever changed our lives for the better. There is nothing like a child to put a smile on your face. Now he's already 8 months old...time does fly.

April 2008

~NEW Home....
We bought our first house (condo) in August. It is a perfect place for our little family.

~NEW Degree....
Nate received his bachelors degree in Microbiology from Weber in May. We can't wait until his next degree is complete!

~NEW School....
OSU! We are definitely lifelong Buckeyes. The school pride out here took all of 2 minutes to suck us right in. Dental school has changed our lifestyles dramatically...the hardest part is not seeing eachother near as often. With Nate being in school all day and me working some nights, it just doesn't work as well as I'd like, but that's life. I am gratful for Nate being in school and can't wait until he is done!

~NEW Places to Explore....
We've been exploring Ohio (especially Columbus, obviously) and look forward to seeing more places out East. We've been to Charlotte to visit my uncle Ladd and aunt Sally and their family, Cleveland to see the Jazz and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Amish Country to see a simpler life. I look forward to further travels these next 3 1/2 years.

~NEW Football Team....
I'm sorry, but those Ute and Cougar fans have nothing on Buckeye Nation. This is my new team, and I'm sure it always will be from this point on.

Beanie Wells...good luck in the NFL!

~NEW Job....
Luckily we got to Ohio and I got a job before the hiring freezes started at a lot of the hospitals in Columbus. I am working as a Medical/Oncology/Palliative care nurse at a hospital downtown.

~NEW Ward....
The church is true! I love how the church works...built in family and support system wherever we go.

~NEW Friends....
What would I do without these people?! I definitely feel as though we have a second family here, love you guys!

There are so many other new things, but these definitely get the picture across. I can't say the transition has been easy, especially for me (just ask Nate!). I do look forward to all the wonderful opportunities, experiences, and meeting wonderful people.

What I am even more grateful for are those things that don't change...topping that list is wonderful, loving, caring, awesome families and friends! We couldn't have gotten through all these "NEW" things without all your love and support!

Lovin' Park City

I just love this little town! We've been up a few times this summer, and each time we find something new. I wouldn't mind retiring there one day. It is just different from every other little Utah town. There is such a diverse population, many restaurants you can't find anywhere else, and lots of outdoorsy things to do. We've made quite a few trips up there recently, so here are some pictures of our time up there this summer. Thanks Trish and Peter for letting us freeload a free place to stay every now and again!

I love this kid!

Tucker is just my little angel. It's hard to believe it's only been 11 weeks since he's been here with us. It seems that everyone has forgot about his parents and only wants to see our little cute-petutie! I thought I'd list a few things I love about this little guy, because as he gets older, I'm sure he won't be such the perfect little angel he is now!

*His little eyes just melt your heart

*His smiles create a chain reaction, he makes eyeryone smile

*He tells stories with little sqeaks, grunts, and coos

*He hates to sleep, he will fight sleep until he is physically unable to stay awake any longer. He doesn't want to miss anything

*He loves to go shopping, this is the time when he sleeps which makes it easier on mom to gets things done at the store.

*He loves to cuddle. One of his favorite positions is sitting up on my chest or sitting in his baby carrier up against me<
/strong>

*He looks like a little angel when he sleeps

*The little rolls on his legs are fun to play with

*He loves the outdoors, taking him outside will cure fussiness

*I love his little newborn cry. It is sweet. I'm sure it will get more annoying as he grows!

*He never cries to wake me up in the middle of the night. He just grunts...that way the whole house doesn't have to be woken up...just me. He is courteous!

I'm sure every parent feels the same way, but I have never fallen in love with someone so fast as I have my little Tucker. Even with Nate, it took a while before I loved him like I do this little boy. I wish he could stay little forever!

Have You Seen These?

This show is hilarious! If you've ever seen those crazy Japanese gameshows on Spike TV, you'll love this. Crazy people doing crazy stunts, hurting themselves, falling in mud or water, trying to get some money. It's pretty entertaining.

Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives

I love the food network! And my favorite is Divers, Drive-ins and Dives. Guy Fieri goes around the country going to various diners, drive-ins and dives...hence the title. Last night he visited Burger Bar in Roy! There are a few other Utah places he is set to visit in the near future. If you missed the Burger Bar episode, try and catch the re-run..it was pretty good! Guy is a pretty funny dude and makes it really entertaining.

My New Fav Toy

Most of you have heard of the Wii Fit...it really fun! My mom bought it a few days ago, and by the time I went to the store, it was all sold out. It has everything for a good workout-aerobics, yoga, strength training, and balance exercises. It's perfect for a momma that doesn't want to take her newborn to the gym's nursery quite yet. I highly recommed it!
