Halloween 2015

Halloween so so fun this year!  With the reemergence of Star Wars, our boys all wanted to get in on the fun and we went with a Star Wars theme for the boys costumes.

I got to help out at Gray's preschool Halloween party doing some crafts.

And Ty and Tucker thought it would be fun to dress up like girls for some reason....
Nate and I also got to go to 2 fun adult parties..one murder mystery dinner and one Witch Hunt.  Both super fun!  We are lucky to live in such a fun ward.

Nate and I were Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World this year
The trunk or treat was moved into the church due to rain, and it turned out super fun.
After the church fun, we headed out to dinner with our friends the Hegerhorsts, then walked around a neighborhood for some more treats.
One other "Halloween-ie" thing we did this year was do a trick-or-treat on the trail, which went up Badger Mountain, collecting things along the way.  The boys had fun with this!

October Visitors

I'm trying to use some of my baby "downtime" to get caught up on some blogging.  My posts may be out of order, but at least I am getting them on here!

So anyhow, back in October we had some visitors roll into town.  First was the Watkins clan.  They went up to Spokane to check out the campus for Kyle and then headed back down this way.  We took them for some Mexican food as always, hit up Bill's Berry Farm to make cider and eat yummy doughnuts, and played lots of Ticket to Ride.

The next week after they left, I got to go on a field trip with Gray's preschool to the Country Mercantile out in Pasco to have some fall-festivity time.

At the end of that week, my family came up to visit, and we also hit up Bill's, the fellas went golfing, we went shopping, played games, carved pumpkins, and ate some yummy food.  Also, when each of our families were here we announced my pregnancy to them in person.

Yep, Still Love the Oregon Coast!

I have loved our tradition of heading out to the beach once a year.  So grateful we can hop into a car and be at the beach in 4 hours!  We have visited a few different cities along the Oregon Coast, and this time we tried a new area out, Lincoln City!  This time we were lucky enough to be able to coordinate with our dental school friends the Palmers and have a fun vacation with them.

This neighborhood is pretty much dreamy!
We started off by driving out to show the Palmers some of our favorite spots we've visited along the coast, starting at Cannon Beach and showing them Haystack Rock.  Then grabbed a bite at Mo's, a famous chain up and down the coast.
And then our absolute favorite, Hug Point.

 Exploring the caves

Rocks+water=little boy entertainment for hours and hours

Next stop was Tillamook.  We took the little tour and finished up with some delicious ice cream.

We finally made it down to Lincoln City and were eager to check things out.  We discovered a bunch of wild blackberry bushes across the street from the beach house we were staying at.  We ate our weight in these babies!
 Olivia Beach!
Every time we wanted to get down to the beach from our place we had to walk down these stairs with all our children, our chairs, our beach toys, etc.  Good workout to say the least!

 Our cute little beach house.
 View from the house
Roads End State Park was a perfect place for us to do some kite flying.
And get wet in the puddles

More blackberries!  After the kiddos went to bed this night, we made up some blackberry milkshakes, and they turned out pretty awesome :)
Lincoln City is such a great place!  We didn't try too many places to eat, but we did try a place called J's Fish and Chips that was super yummy (we ate there twice :)  We took a walk through the outlets, and visited the Christmas store so I could get an ornament to add to our tree this year.
Ah, a sunny moment at the beach...nope, this didn't last long, but you take what you can get in the Pacific Northwest!

 They never grow up!

Trying to do a little tide-pooling while dodging waves

Oh how we miss this family!  So glad they live on our route down to Utah so we can stop and say hello each time we drive down!

Someone left this message in a bottle, which I would have kept, but saw on the top that it was just written that day and hadn't even made it into the water yet, so I left it to be taken away and find another lucky recipient.
Love these peeps, and yes....it is cold!

Thanks again Oregon and thanks Palmers for another great time!  Can't wait to get back :)
