Southern Hospitality

1 Smoked Turkey
1 Brined Turkey
1 Fried Turkey
These were the stars of our wonderful Thanksgiving meal!  We gad another opportunity this year to travel South through the very interesting state of West Virginia, the beautiful Virginia, and end up in the lovely Charlotte, North Carolina to visit some wonderful family!  My Uncle Ladd and Aunt Sally live there and were gracious enough to invite us down for the holiday.  I can't say how nice it is to have some family within driving distance :)  So with our friends Kevin and Allyson, we packed up the minivan and made the trek.

My aunt and uncle not only hosted us for Thanksgiving, but 5-6 other families in their ward that are far from their families as well...made for a big group!  Sally's Thanksgiving traditions include having a small glass of cran-apple juice to "clean out the innards" and having 5 candycorns, thinking of 5 blessings before you eat them.  Here's Nate with the fried turkey before it was cut and gobbled up :)

My cousin Ashley was game for taking us out Black Friday shopping, so with my alarm set for 3:30, we got up and made it to Target for their 4am open time. I got everything I wanted there, it was definitely a successful trip!
Our spot in line...thankfully it only took about 15 minutes in line!
Saturday we went down to some property my uncle has in South Carolina.  They call it "the farm."  We had some fun on the 4-wheelers....
 the tire swing.....
 the tractor.....
 shooting some clay pigeons....

While we were at their house, Tucker thought this walk in closet was his bedroom...worked out quite well for us :)
It was such a great weekend away from Columbus...now only t minus 2 weeks until Utah for the holidays!
